    Company Profile

SPECTO Aerospace is an EASA/FAA/TCCA/MAA and CAA-UK Part 145, AS9110 and ISO9001 certified aerospace engineering company, based at Lelystad Airport. The company repairs high-quality composite parts for the international aviation and defence industries. SPECTO has all the necessary disciplines in-house: from inspection, repair and painting to testing aircraft components. People First, Reliability, Craftsmanship, Inventiveness and Taking Ownership are our core values. From our two locations, Lelystad Airport and at the Woensdrecht Air Base, we work on our future with approximately 50 colleagues. They are all professionals who are proud of their skills and who have heart for the business. Together, we aim for the best result, and that means not hanging around but helping colleagues and tackling matters when we see that is necessary. And we expect the same from you.

    Introduction

    Internship

During the repair of lightweight (composite) aerostructures at our aerospace engineering repair shop at Lelystad Airport a lot of data is generated. This is to be expected since the stringent international aviation regulations require a thorough logging of the work performed.  Now we want to get more information out of all the collected data and we could use your help with that!

We are looking for your help in developing and building a complete Digital Twin in our Aerospace environment. The virtual models that we will create must go through the same different steps as the physical aircraft part does and your task is to ensure that the data released and the knowledge and insights gained can be easily but firmly linked to the 3D model. It will be your assignment, in collaboration with colleagues, to develop a digital platform within which data from the physical process can be linked to a virtual 3D model already on the shop floor. Its ultimate use must be possible by means of an App in a workplace environment – whether or not using Augmented Reality Techniques – and be suitable for Data Capture and eventual Data Analysis.
