    Company Profile

    SPECTO Aerospace, located at Lelystad Airport and at Woensdrecht Air Force Base, is a specialist in the repair of composite aircraft and helicopter parts. SPECTO is a certified aviation technical company that repairs these lightweight parts for renowned aircraft and helicopter maintenance companies, airlines and manufacturers within and outside Europe. In our own workshops, as well as in our customers' hangars, we carry out high-quality, specialized work.     SPECTO is basically a craftsman's company in a high-tech environment. Our goal is to digitalize extensively. Not because it is more efficient but also because it will help us "change the game". In the repair process of composite aircraft parts, specialists and engineers already record a multitude of detailed data as standard, and we want to process this information in a 3D environment in order to use it to communicate in images to stakeholders (Visualization), to unlock and store information during the process (Digital Twinning) and to be able to analyze all this data in order to design the next generation of aircraft parts (Data Analytics). For this we use our scale 1:1 3D CAD models that we create of customer products with our own advanced scanning equipment.

    We have developed a Proof of Concept application in Unity (C#) in which we are able to draw simple shapes on a 3D model. However, this application is not yet finished: we want to be able to easily record 3D color and measurement data (reality) and capture it as an information layer on the 3D model (virtuality) and in addition we want to create and improve various drawing functionalities. It is also important to establish a link between the application and the company database.

    We expect you to develop a Proof of Concept in which:

    • color can be taken from reality in a low-threshold manner and copied into virtuality (3D model);
    • measurement data can be copied from reality to virtuality (3D model);
    • drawing functionalities are added and/or improved in the Graphic User Interface (GUI);
    • there will be a link between the application and SPECTO's corporate database so that (SQL) data can be exchanged;
    • a thorough advisory report is produced in which the above is well documented.

    You are a creative thinker and you are passionate about new technologies and tools.

    • You are in the final phase of your HBO/WO education;
    • You master the English and Dutch language;
    • You have analytical skills and you work in a structured way.
